About Dante

Dante is a painter and illustrator whose work is often based around the open-ended narrative feeling of dreams, while also focusing on social issues such as race, sexuality, power dynamics and other topics the artist believes imagery can confront differently than words.

While having received classical training, Dante is mostly self-taught, as experimentation and deliberate avoidance of limiting himself to one genre are core directives of his work. Concerning his paintings, his work is primarily unplanned, and developed with symbolism guiding his way. In his illustrative work, he applies this fluidity to collaborate with others, and complement their visions for imagery and story-telling.
